documenting the easiest & quickest sewing project ever...
sooo i have a big event coming up and it's themed around dial up internet and 90s rave. a long time ago, i got these pink ghast pants from amazon that are the NOISIEST and BIGGEST pants i've ever had.suffice to say, i hardly wore them

however i've since outgrown them, which sucks because they have awesome pockets and an even cooler gas mask design on the leg. no matter what, i HAD to save them, except i couldn't wear them any longer..
so what project is easier than cutting off the most important part and keeping it as a cool accessory?
first, the legs had to come off. i cut right below the long pocket on the side in order for there to be plenty of room to create a channel. there were pleats sewn into this part as you can see on the side seams. that didn't matter as they would be hemmed down.i went ahead and ironed the pants so i could get the pleats looking crisp. like i said, these wouldn't be visible or important but it helped to see where i was to guide myself. as you can see, i did not cut it very well at the top ┐( ̄ヘ ̄;)┌........

| i know what you're thinking.. |
once the elastic was in, i just tied the ends together and i didnt even tie the channels closed. that's the extent of my detachment from this project. also, if the shoddy elastic were to break i could easily go back in and put a new one. it's not like i was planning on abusing the hell out of these (>ᴗ•)

and here is how they turned out! pretty boring huh..
on the pants there were black ties hanging off each large pocket. i didn't wanna lose those, so i cut them off. i flipped the legwarmers inside out once more, and quickly sewed the ties to the side. i've just tied them into a bow for some added cuteness, as if i left them out theyd begin touching the floor.
another nice feature are the adjustable hems on the bottom. if i wanted to feel like a pink astronaut, i could pull the strings tight.
that's all! like that's literally it.. can't decide if i'll wear these out for the show i'm going to, but at least i have them for any emergency situation...
and a merry kurisumasu ibu ~
